Question about Omlet Grub Glug

Recommended Posts

I have a pink Grub / Glug and a purple one. Both are about 2 years old. The purple one has worn brilliantly and still looks completely new  However the pink quite quickly became covered in little black specs where the chickens have pecked at it. It is not dirt but seems to be where the pink has come off :( I'm sure the chickens are also pecking the purple one but on that it does not show at all. Has anyone else experienced this with their Grub / Glug? Just wondering whether there is any point in getting a new pink one or if it is something to do with the pink colour being less 'stable' or something than the purple so the black specs would just appear on the new one too.

Try jet washing it or putting it in the dishwasher; the surface of the Omlet plastic is covered with tiny pits caused by the moulding process, this traps dirt and causes a speckled effect, which shows up more in lighter colours - I am guessing this is what you are talking about. I once had a pink Rablu, which I got very cheaply (nothing otherwise would have tempted me to buy that colour!) it faded very badly and was always prone to these speckles. My orange eglu gets them but to a lesser extent and the colour is less prone to fading. My purple cube has never faded, discoloured and any specks don't show on the darker colour.
