Phil, I work somewhere in amongst all that lot, with lovely panoramic views of Hartlepool Nuclear power station  and the lovely ghost ships.

Just thinking of you having spent all day sat on the beach here in Cornwall just up the estuary from Falmouth. Eldest is doing a weekof sailing so had 2 and half hours to kill with youngest. Rock pooling watching fishermen catching sea weed and paddling, with the sun beating down, what more could you ask for?

Add one of those fantastic giant cornish pasties to that (vegetarian for me) and that would be a perfect day!! :D

Have visited beaches all round the country, and reckon you can't beat Weymouth, which has a lovely sandy beach, a nice town, and various attractions - something for everyone, whatever their age.

Hastings has a pebbley beach, and the main part of the town is quite commercial, but the old town is interesting, and there are 2 cliff railways, one goes up to the castle from the main town, and the other goes up to a country park from the old town. (at least that's what it used to be like, but it's some years since I lived there!)

Wherever you chose, I hope the good weather holds, and you have a great day!

P&P we love Weymouth too - my best friend lives down there and we don't get down nearly as often as we'd like.

Cinammon, when are you going? We're hoping to be camping near Corfe Castle in about 2 weeks time, might see you there! I'll buy you a birthday card just in case!

 My birthday is on August 16th, so if I can talk himself into taking a day off, we will go on that day (weather depending,of course!)

Actually, we are now considering Weymouth too, as eldest daughter has some friend from there, so she could meet up with them briefly 8)
