Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

After reading many posts and how to's, I decided to make a dust bath. The chooks were staying in as they were being wormed. The 2 in my smaller run get bored. I got everything I needed and very excitedly put it in the run.......they didnt go near it. It was like an alien had landed. However I am slightly cleverer than them. I ordered some live mealworms on the Internet. Who's excited now. Well all of us actually.

Wish I'd thought of that when I put the black tyre of death in my run thinking it would make a nice dustbath .

My girls were absolutely terrified of the yellow treat ball and the hentastic treat stick, took them ages to come round to the yellow ball and they still don't trust the hentastic treat! I also thought they would attack a kamakazi mouse in the enclosure but the huddled together for fear if attack I think!! Silly ladies

YAY you - mine took a while to get used to theirs - they still preferred the spot in the garden that I wanted to grow veg in !! they soon got used to it and LOVE it now - they bathe together every day !!!

I use a purple tub trug thing and filled it with what I thought would be all sorts of good dust bathing material including expensive chincilla dust. They hated it. Then I put in some old dried up earth from some pots I was clearing away - they love it!

I have a tub trug filled with compost, the first time they knocked it over, but now I've fixed it down and they all love it.
