buffie
I've got to send the market banners to Leanne for the flower show next weekend, for our BHWT garden of eggsellence Anyway I have never used a courier so wondered if you can help me. What to do and who to use. You ebayers (Sarah) may be the people I need Thanks BBx
chrisnrob
How big and heavy are the banners? Rob
buffie
Well Rob, they are banner stands x 2 , 1 metre in length and weigh about 10-15kg each. I also need to send the vinyl banners x 2 which fit inside the carry cases of the stands thanks BBx
Popcorn
Buffie, the experts on Couriers have to be Omlet (I hear a big groan) i'd drop them an email or give them a call. Otherwise, if you can weigh your stuff, you usually get charged by the kilogram. ....then could you possibly have a look online at various companies and their charges? sparkleeeeee
i use www.senditnow.com (they are owned by royal mail i believe) and they use parcleforce. you can do a box upto 30kg 24 hr delivery for £11.99 and you will get tracking. its alot cheaper than going to parcleforce directly. sending my eglus with them was a disaster (probably due to their size) but i have sent loads of buggies and boxes of toys that i sold on e-bay with them without a problem. i often drop it off at the depot which is near me so i dont have to wait in all day for collection. some people use payperdrop from e-bay but i dont think they are that reliable. Cate in NZ
So sorry buffie, you all do a great job, and wish i had a garden big enough to help out. . is there anything like this local to me in Kent?, x Check out the web site for details of co-ordinators Tracey. I know the Kent co-ordinatory is Diana and she's based in Ashford. She works in tandem with Jane Howarth who is the BHWT and carries out rescues in the Kent area with the full agreement of local farmers, and she arranges for adopters to collect the rescued hens from her. If you wanted to adopt any ex batts then she's the person to approach for sure . I contacted her quite a while ago now with a view to offerring my services to help out with rescues, but at the time she had sufficient helpers, but if you wanted to get involved that way then do contact her and see if she needs help. Alternatively support BHWT by never, ever buying battery eggs , avoiding foods containing battery eggs, getting the word around to friends and neighbours, and possibly even making donations............ buy a lovely jute BHWT bag for example, or adopt a hen through them, (check out their website or newsletters for details of that scheme)
Ladylucan
Thanks, i would love to adopt a couple of hens, i just wish i had a big enough place to rescue loads of them, .. but i suppose by rescuing a couple its helping. I will have another look at the site, and get intouch with the lady at Ashford. x
