The Dogmother
I haven't seen a hedgie in my garden for years now but last night when I let the hounds out for their last wee, Cyrus was barking at something, went to check and there's a hedgehog snuffling along in the borders I am delighted, but slightly worried that he should be hibernating by now, hopefully he will find the cosy pile of leaves under the log pile. Grandmashazzie
Gosh DM now you mention it I haven't seen one for ages either. Are the numbers declining? It wasn't too long ago that you would see lots of little flattened hedgehogs as you drive along I haven't seen too many of them either
The Dogmother
Yes, I think they're endangered. Eggers would be able to confirm/deny that as she fosters rescued hedgies.
Luvachicken
Oooh I do love hedgehogs. I haven't seen one in our garden for a long time but I did see a big one when we were on holiday in Cornwall Dogmother, I hope your one hibernates in your leaf pile. Bramble
I love hedgies! I had two in the garden at my old house, but they've yet to appear where I am now (new house, new estate so net hedgepig friendly ... yet) Did help friends make a nice warm house for their hedgie t'other day though, they know they have a hedgie in the garden and are quite keen to encourage him!
