The Dogmother
What is it with Flash players? I can watch a programme on iplayer on my Android phone, I also have the latest versions of BBC Media Player and iplayer on my Galaxy tab, but I can't seem to watch any programmes on it the timer goes around for a bit and then I get an message that either the content is unavailable, or to check my internet connection. Any ideas?
Chickabee
Is your android phone maybe using 3G ? Sounds like your tablet is buffering which would suggest a broadband problem. We had this for ages, then changed to the latest BT broadband and wifi set up. We don't have that problem anymore. However, can't seem to get a wireless printer to work from it. The Dogmother
No, they are both working on the wifi here at home, there's nowt wrong the broadband. I can watch other things on the tab such as Ch4 catch up or ITV.
Chickabee
Mmm I guess all other internet is ok on your tab. With sky you can only use it on 2 devices, unless you pay an extra fiver a month, but I guess that would have come up with a message. Is their a button on the back of your router that you press to find the wireless connection. If there is try pressing it for about 3 seconds. The wifi light will flash whilst it's searching. Sit near it with your device so that they both connect to the same. If that doesn't work, I don't know what will
Chickabee
It's called a WPS button
The Dogmother
Thanks Sonyascott, I've already done that. I think it's a Flash issue and am off to browse the Android forums. Don't let that hold you folks back with suggestions though.
Chickabee
Good luck. I can't get Flash player on my ipad, apple won't allow it! I do have some problems because of this, but not with BBC I player hope you get it sorted soon

The Dogmother
Did that several times, Fred. Thanks though
Geoid
That is strange, it works fine on my Galaxy Tab... The only other thing I can think of is do a factory reset...
Chickabee
We are taking the issues with some Samsung devices (in particular S3, S2 and Note running 4.1.2) very seriously. We are working with Samsung and the mobile operators to rectify this firmware bug as soon as possible. We will update this FAQ when we receive further information. This is copied from the BBC iplayer, Samsung help website Sorry, frustrating isn't it
The Dogmother
Thanks Guys. I did a factory reset last night Fred, and it works fine now. A pain to have to reload everything, but thankfully I don't store files on it. I know there have been issues between Android and various Flash players, but I do love the Android operating system and the freedom you get with it. Wouldn't mind, but the only TV I watch is an hour or two on iplayer on a Friday evening whilst I'm ironing, so for that not to work is a tad inconvenient. kissinuk
Bit late now but did you also uninstall/reinstall the BBC Media Player app? It doesn't use Flash anymore, that's why you need the other app.
The Dogmother
I did, thanks kissinuk; I uninstalled both of them, restarted, then re-installed and restarted again.
