Chickabee
My Daisybelle is about 18 months old now. She's a fantasic layer. When I collected my eggs today I found a large almost white one. When I looked on my egg rack they have been getting lighter and lighter. Is this normal? I'm not worried about her, she's very happy and healthy. Only thing I did change was layers pellets as I couldn't get fancy feed, which I favour. My POLs are a cream legbar and a welsummer, so it can't be them

The Dogmother
Most of my hens lay gradually paler eggs as the laying season progresses, this is more pronounced in older birds, after the winter break from laying, they come back in fine form and with fully coloured eggs. Sandychick
Have they been wormed recently? I've noticed that when mine start doing gradually paler eggs it is usually time for the flubenvet. The eggs then go back to their darker colour within about 3 or 4 days. The same happened when I had red mite earlier this year - as soon as that was gone, the eggs went back to normal colour. Has anyone else noticed this????
Chickabee
They're not due for worming just yet. All the other girls eggs are fine. Will check for red mite, but I only dusted them a few weeks ago
