jsbates65
A couple of times in the last few days as I go to pet Rosemary she flattens her back and holds very still. At first I thought maybe I had scared her. . .but did she think I was a rooster?! About the time they should start laying eggs do they go into "heat"? Clarisse didn't do this though and she's been laying eggs for a few weeks now. Just another silly question from Kansas. . .
Egluntyne
Yep...she's ready to start laying. I don't know that they go into season though.
Ladylucan
Well hello there, nice to have you here. I was told that they did do that when they are laying as they think it is the rooster, it does make them a lot easier to pick up and you dont have to go chasing around the run for them, Enjoy the opportunity to pick them up at that time. ...... chocchick
Yep she thinks you're a rooster, although mine think I'm a rooster too They don't always squat, sometimes mine just run away to avoid being handled I find they will squat once, but when they've done that they won't do again until another day.
