Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

Separating this out from other thread for simplicity.

Vet was surprised that Didge only weighs 1.92kg - some of the others feel to weigh less than that.

Anyone know the weight of their ex-bats ?

I've never weighed my exbats. I just feel them whenever I pick them up. One of them is quite light, but well feathered and comb looking good. Does she look ok in every other way? Don't think I'd worry. You can't force feed them

My last commercial birds were ex free rangers and felt very lean compared to my ex batts from a couple of years earlier, and the batts weren't particularly big. However I have gavclojaks Hen Solo here on permanent loan and she's quite a chunky bird, I believe she's ex enriched/colony cage.

I don't weigh them but it wouldn't surprise me if Hen Solo is twice the weight of Tango!

My girls are ex commercial barn ladies but you are right, they are big girls, alana has always been the biggest, solo wasn't as big as her but she is probably thriving now she isn't being bullied.

Not only are they big girls, they have short dumpy legs.....super models they are not!!
