Our maran had been laying normal ones and then I found a diddy one on the roosting bars (knew it was hers - the only speckledy brown egg layer). I have kept it for about 4 years and then it just crumpled in half (me suspects someone damaged it and kept it quiet), totally empty - thank goodness - but there were 3 layers of shell inside it!
