soapdragon
Following on from my last post we missed the Chinese hamsters by a whisker (sorry!) as someone beat us to it and took all 5 ! However we have just found 6 Russian Dwarf - like Fang our previous hammy - on Gumtree and are going to collect on Sunday! However, the boys would love one each but we are not sure which can be kept together 2 boys or 2 girls? These are siblings and so have been together since birth - if the worst came to the worst tho and they started to fight we'd get another cage but would like to keep them together. So, Omlet hamster keepers.....what will it be? 2 boys or 2 girls?
bluekarin
I think my sister in laws kids had two boys. One ate the other so I would say 2 girls. Unless someone with more hamster wisdom comes along
soapdragon
Well, I guess that saves on food bills tho not, of course, desirable

soapdragon
We now have Bob, a dwarf Russian, 6 weeks old! He is adorable and very friendly. The boys (and us!) are smitten! I decided that 2 together would not work in the long term - we'd be devastated if they fought and hurt each other.
