Garden plant climber

Recommended Posts

Whatever you plant, you'll have to protect it while it's young and tender or they'll probably scoff it. A clematis montana is a good climber, it'll take a year to get established though; any sort of clematis really, or a climbing rose? Passion flower would be my other recommendation, or you can get a climbing hydrangea which is pretty. Or good old Virginia Creeper, it depends if you want flowers or foliage. I'd put chicken-wire round the pot/base of the plant till it's established and after that they'll probably ignore it.
