Hi

I have seen this pattern online for using jelly rolls for making this blanket that goes into a bag and being a novice wanted to try make one for days out, wondered if anyone had it or one simular

Well the inside block is just made up of 4 squares but the outer part is like log cabin - this (although it looks complicated for the most part) you can see how the outer border bits fit together:

If you scroll down to block number 9 it shows the pieces a little more clearly as you can see how the parts fit together.

 

Not much help I know but it's a start.

Ooh nice baggies! I have a couple of books by M'Liss Rae Hawley - s"Ooops, word censored!"py quilt ones. It never stops with one book though. Hubby said how many books does a person need? Then when we went to a quilt show and he saw all the books for sale he said oh quite a lot then!

My husband says that everytime I get a new baking or cook book but I must say probably most the books ive never done a recipe from but the intention is there, thankfully I dont think he knows that lol

 

I rearrange every now and then and sneak new ones in have to be thin paper books now as struggling to squeeze them on the shelf to make a gap, I have now extented into a couple of knitting, crotchet and sewing books lol

 

I think theres alot of us like this, maybe we could do a topic on a book libary or something dont know what postage is or if some of us are close by for driving to eachother, to do a book borrowing thing ai dont mind sharing my books , letting someone have one for what a 2 week - 1 month period, least they are getting the use while I wont be using it. Just would need reliabilty to return I love my books probably partky get them for the prettiness of pictures lol

That is a good idea. My quilt books are my preciouses though - but I too have loads of cook books that I've probably done maybe one thing from in all our 30 years of marriage! Now I get some super recipes online - even Youtube! Hubby is happy with the results and no more spare room taken up. Well not by my things - that would be him and his River Cottage bibles.
