ali-s
Freckle has been here for 15 hours, 8 of them roosting but already her crest is a mess. Her crest got soaked when she dipped her head into the glug and then it got covered in Mash from the grub. The crest is now a matted, crusty mess. Eddie the breeder said that the crest could be tied up with an elastic band, which I laughed at. This now seems a sensible option or maybe one of those cute little bows that Yorkshire Terriers wear. A tradtional feeder and drinker seems the best way to go, so any reccomendations please We passed a chicken supply place on the way home yesterday which sell them, but I don't fancy another 2 hour drive today. Thanks
chocchick
I wonder how they survive sometimes. Mine coat their chest with mash. You could try an online supplier, it's in a stickie in the FAQ section.
Ladylucan
i use the feeders with the little sections in for water and the same type for their pellets, They recommend that these are better than the open type because of their crowns, So far it has seems to be ok with them, ( the baby in the piccy is my new Legbar x
Egluntyne
Try Ebay.....cheaper and less time consuming than a 2 hour trip. I got some extra drinkers there and they were fine...and not expensive.
Cinnamon
Yes, we have this problem too with Floss the Poland who always seems to be having a bad hair day. We use pellets so no mash problems, but she always looks filthy & I am sure it must be chilly in the winter! I have a new Glug on order from Omlet, which I think should work out quite nicely when it gets here, as they drink from underneath rather than the top.
