Err, a maran!!! The breeder thinks it may be a throw back, but I'm wondering if mis-picked, I was gob smacked when I saw your photos this morn, turns out my dark one I thought was a boy is now a girl and my girl is now a leg bar ??? I know nothing about leg bars :anxious:

Waiting to hear back from my local breeder where I got my original girls and eggs. I def know 2 are postal marans and 2 bantams from her. She breeds buff pymouth rocks, s p wynnadottes and New Hampshire reds. I assumed the yellow one was a buff, but the breeder of the marans said that twice in 3 yrs they've had a throwback yellow, which may mean the ginger one could be a New Hampshire??? What a puzzler. Sent pic away so I'll wait and see and then wait some more to see who doodle-doos.

It looks like it will possibly be a gold partridge colour and male (markings not defined enough to be female) I can't see if it has a single (upright) comb or a Rose comb, if it has a rose comb is possibly from the Wyandotte pen. If single comb I guess it will be a NHR - not seen many chicks so not sure.
