I was having a squish of one of the Faverolle babies when quick as a flash she pecked my earring out and before I could wrestle it from her beak she'd swallowed it. Fortunately for her it's a very small stud type, not so fortunately for me it's one of my white gold diamonds from New York about 15 years ago. I've isolated her into the cat box with a puppy wee pad and minimal accompanyments. So far I've checked through about 50 poops. It's clearly not affected her appetite. I have checked everywhere just in case she dropped it and hoovered very carefully. I decided that it was better for them to be together and the lady was very nice and delighted with them. As it was pointed out to me I could have lost it in the street. What if she hadn't swallowed it after all? What if it stayed forever in her gizzard? At least I can stop trawling through poop now, they sure do a lot in a day.
