christyrose12
Does any who has the cube and run leave the door open at night? Are they ever worried about foxes? Do you leave the door open all year round or just in the summer?
mullethunter
Hi christyrose12 - there's a thread about this from a couple of months back - summary is a lot of people do leave the door open
christyrose12
Thank you. I typed it into the search bar and came up with loads of answers.
Lewis
Sounds like you're sorted but we're pretty confident the runs are secure so ours are left open all year round
SueChick
Hi - I leave mine open only in spring and autumn. In the summer dawn is too early and they started getting clucky at 5 am! Poor neighbors. In the winter I like to keep them all cosy so I shut them in. Hope this helps.
PixieDust
As a moot point, has there been a thread that discusses the frequency of chooks taken by a fox from pens with coop doors left open? Interesting topic.
SueChick
My coop directly accesses an omlet WIR so I don't need to worry about horrible Mr Fox (thank God) when they are inside the run - I am guessing that the other people who leave their doors open have a similarly safe set up for the early morning.
