I am so excited for our little girls (and our cube) to arrive.

I've been out getting things off my shopping list for them but it feels like so long to wait it's killing me! (Don't get them till 15th October! !!!)

That's a long wait Misapp. At least you have plenty of time to prepare. Sure it will be a vey enjoyable experience, particularly the arrival of the FIRST EGG !!!

 

When we got our first chickens it was very unplanned. Friend called us one evening saying she had some 7 week old chicks called 'Orpingtons' and was moving house so did we want them? We picked them up a few days later then started a very steep learning curve indeed! Even basic questions hadn't been considered like "where do they sleep?" and "what do they eat?"

Good luck misapp. It's a great hobby, you'll feel like a new mum when you get your first egg. Oh and by the way it is addictive. I started with 3 and now have 16

Obviously chicken keeping with omlet is busy work with lots of orders coming in.

It was almost a year of careful planning before I got my hens last June, now three months on I'm already preparing an expansion so I can get more chickens next Spring.
