jeshen
I put my 5 'babies' (3 18-weeks and 2 16-weeks) in their new go-up for the first time after dark last night. (They've been in a ground-level eglu up to now.) This morning at 7.30am when I opened the door they stood looking in horror at the distance to the ground. You could see them thinking 'No way am I jumping down there!' I tried everything to persuade them to come down but they weren't having it. In the end I left them to it - didn't want to frighten them by giving them a push, as I thought they might not go back up the steps in the evening. It took 4 hours before one of them braved the steps, and then the others quickly followed. Went out this evening at 6.30 to put them to bed, thinking I'd have a real hassle - but no problem. They'd all climbed the stairs and were happily sitting in the coop. Funny little creatures!
Cat tails
Wow! Lucky you! Mine decided to camp out in the run the first night. Ending up with me crawling in the run and wrestling scared little chickens in the coop overhead... Not a pretty sight.... You have very clever girls!
