Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

It's not quite finished but it's looking pretty good. Just waiting for the roof to be delivered and some more wood chips (you can see where I ran out).

I don't know how they are still so fluffy, the amount of feathers they have lost in the last week. I also have no idea how they stay so white either, they are always running out into the rain and then going for a dust bath. They come out of the dust bath a lovely black/grey colour and 10 minutes later they are perfectly white again.

 

The run will be covered when the roof arrives (hopefully tomorrow) but I haven't dared put the temporary cover on because of the lovely windy weather we've had. Some nights I've woken up convinced that there is a tornado right outside the window.

Just an idea (not a criticism) to save you lots of bending could you put the house on a table to raise it up?

 

 

I spent ages making my girls a swing but they refused to use it the miserable bunch.
