The Dogmother
I've not used Gumtree before, but am looking to sell something for local collection only, and it will probably go better on a local site than on Ebay. Plus its heavy, so not postable.... my dad gave me a slightly used pump for taking water from a water butt via a hose. Any tips would be appreciated. gavclojak
I have used gumtree several times and never had any problems. It's basically the same premise as an add in a local paper. The only thing I didn't like was adding my phone number so I left it blank and just used email contact. I'm sure you will be fine and with the added bonus of avoiding ebays ridiculously high seller fee's.....I sold a bag for £500 and it cost me £50!!! soapdragon
I have moved from e bay, and their ridiculous fees and rules, to Gumtree and have had no probs at all! What you need to bear in mind is that, even if you list locally, your ad can be seen nationally and I have had a few requests to post...which I have politely declined!!!! When arranging pick up I have said that I am not sure of OH will be there or not.....being a bit aware of being a 'lone female' but all has worked well so far. Good luck!
