Minnie&Moose
Our home hatched french wheaten maran, Gloria, laid her first today - a lovely colour but a stunning 63g! Definitely the biggest first egg we've ever had.

Minnie&Moose
She seems to be getting into her stride now - they're darker and shinier every day
Beantree
You've done well there M&M. Our Marans first eggs were all about 52g. They steadily increased and are now (month on) all in the 60's. We are thinking that they may reach the breed standard 75g in Spring? All of them have got slightly lighter as time has gone on. As if there is only a certain amount of pigment available, so it will become thinner on a larger egg?
