Hi All!

Has anyone managed to divide the next box in their cube (and found that the chucks actually use the divisions?) I'm finding my three are squabbling over the nest box in the morning and being quite vocal about it (they all pile in to it happily at night to sleep together, but they will NOT share it when laying :roll: ) do others have this problem?

Thanks everyone!

ANH, you are a star, thank you very much - I thought I'd read something too but hadn't been able to track anything down - off to the Tub Trug shop at lunchtime, by the look of it (or maybe the plastic place mat shop, or both even ...

Thank you!!!

I'm, so far, having the best success with a shoe box in the main part of the Cube where the roosting bars are :anxious::roll: If I take out the front roosting bars (nearest the chuck's entrance to the Cube) and put a shoe box in there (against the front of cube, with the nest box wall to the left) they seem to use it if they have to. They don't seem to have figured out what the tubbrugs are for - if I just put one in the nest box, they squeeze around it and sit in the proper next box, I think they have tried the tubtrug, but I suspect they step on the side when going in and tip it over.

If I put two trugs in the nest box they don't use either

I really wouldn't be bothered if they didn't shout so much in the morning when they can't get the nest box position they want!

We have one which divides it into two nest boxes and they do use them but if they can some prefer to wait and lay in the same one as whoever has laid before them! OH made it from wood and generally they prefer the front box which is darker as the grey back panel lets more light in.

I've been following this thread...hopeful of a solution to this very problem  UKMARCH what a clever OH you have  your divider looks like Omlet made it  I wish they would make something......how difficult could it be???

May have to try the trugs (sadly my OH hopeless at DIY :( )

Ooh what good ideas. I wish I'd seen these a while back! The one that used to not want anyone even close to the run or outside the run is not laying at the moment. All the others are happy together if needs must! But it's good to bear in mind for the future.
