Charlottechicken
I have just discovered this tip. Mum bought a large bowl of lemons from the market last week (for a pound!) and I used a couple to make a lemon cake. After two quickly went mouldy and had to be binned, I wanted to save the others for future use. I have sliced two up and frozen them, ideal for dropping a slice into a summer drink when you want a garnish and ice at the same time! Apparently, you can also remove the zest first and then slice them up, I will try this if I can't use the others up in time.
The Dogmother
Good idea for putting in drinks. I usually zest and juice them, then freeze that for using in baking or cooking.
Grandmashazzie
That's a rest tip .I zest ex lemon today and I usually leave it to shrivel up intending to use it. I sliced it and froze it and the frozen slices have been used already. DD had friends round so I popped it in their lemonade?
