The Dogmother
I have my persistent broody - 9 year old lavender pekin keeping the nest box warm (have given up on the broody cage with her this season) while 2 of the other girls wanted to lay this morning. First up was my chocolate Wyandotte banty, who ended up with the pekin underneath her then the Welsummer, who doesn't do personal contact, trying to be Greta Garbo at the other end of the box! They looked quite puzzled when I told them off earlier: (excuse the sprinkles of Buz Busters)
Luvachicken
Awww, don't they look sweet nestled in together like that. Does your 9 year old pekin still lay any eggs ? I hope my pekins live to an age like that.
The Dogmother
Only a couple a year - had one already this year. She is a brilliant hatcher though.
