CockADoodleDoo
my girls were out in the garden for the second time yesterday happily eating my flowers when i heard a terrible squaking and i ran outside to find a fox chasing the girls. as soon as i opeded the back door the fox ran off. when i went to put the girls back in the run safely they ran away from me so i had to put some grapes in the run and stand well away to get them in. so i have built a fenced off area near the eglu so if a fox comes hopefuly they will start squaking before it gets in. i opened the eglu door today but they just ran and stood right by the door of the hut they wouldn't even come for some grapes. WHAT CAN I DO HELP! THEY SEEM TERRIFIED OF ME AND THEY WONT COME OUT THE RUN!
Martin B
So sorry to hear this. They are probably just shocked, and after a day or so, everything should return to normal.
theherd123
WOW That was such a close shave! I agree with Martin in a couple of days im sure they will settle down a little. Unfortunately now Mr Fox knows you have hens he will be back so you must be on your guard at all times

CockADoodleDoo
it was about 5:55pm. i went to give the girls a cuddle tonight and they seemed ok still a bit frisky but getting better. we have ordered one of those ultrasonic sound things that only foxes can hear so hopefuly that will keep them away. i glad the girls are feeling better

arowland17
we have one of those ultrasonic things - got it to stop cats using our garden as a toilet but it repels foxes too. We got ours from www.windsorproducts.com as I saw an ad in the newspaper and they do a 3 month moneyback guarantee on it. They also do a similar one in Homebase with all the pest control garden stuff, so would imagine they'll do them in most DIY/garden shops. arowland17
saying that, we;ve had our one from there for about a year and it broke (started emitting a very high pitched squeak that drove humans mad as well as dogs and cats and foxes!) and they've said they'll replace it which is great, but they're out of stock until last week of august - very good customer service though, didn't think they'd replace it no questions asked
