Broken Kitchen Aid food processor - any ideas?

Recommended Posts

I have an Artisan Kitchen Aid food processor, around 2 years old, and not used a heck of lot as I tend to use the Kenwood Chef. I used it last night when making biscuits, and it was going well. Tried to use it this morning as I have people coming for lunch tomorrow, and it doesn't work. The light comes on when I press the on button but nothing happens  am gutted :(

Anyone got any ideas?

To top it all, I cut my finger open - could really do with a stitch or two, but I steri-stripped it and it has stopped bleeding now - cooking with a latex glove on isn't easy!

I feel your pain (re the Kitchen Aid, not the cut finger although I'm sorry about that too!) Nothing more frustrating than when a piece of kit stops working.

Sorry I have no bright ideas to suggest - I found a local repair shop when my Kenwood KMix broke down, and got it fixed in no time, so you might do a bit of Google searching for Kitchen Aid service, I'm sure there are some out there.

Ouch; hope the finger is better soon! Sounds like you got the steristrips on in good time.

I sliced a finger at Christmas and refused to go to A&E on the ground that it would be heaving and the wait would be along one and I had two children to look after not drag with me but steristripped straight away and it healed well....nice scar and very little feeling in the end of the finger but Practice Nurse said that the sooner you get the steristrips on the better and usually heals better than stitches with less chance of infection (if you then dress it and leave for at least 5 days....the longer the better!) Bloomin' annoying tho

PS Hope you get the gadget fixed.......tho the finger is more important :)

I have the number of Kitchen Aid service dept, and will ring them on Monday as a first port of call seeing as it's still in warranty. I have made do with the Kenwood, although the old glass liquidiser on it gave up the ghost a month ago.

Finger is fine thanks, a bit tingly, and I will keep the dressing on while I shower so that I don't open it up again, and put a new one on afterwards. I washed it with diluted Hibiscrub first off as I had been chopping onions and it stung like heck.

To top it all we've had power outages this evening, most of the food is prepped, but I was trying to vacuum and tidy up

Funnily enough, today would have been my wedding anniversary, so perhaps this date has bad karma
