Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

OH had to dispatch Little Tiny Bridget today.

 

We rescued her with 3 other girls in March and for the last few weeks she has been laying very very soft shelled eggs or eggs with no shells at all.

 

Today she laid her usual softie which was streaked with blood and when I looked at her, she had a nasty mass hanging from her bottom which was bleeding quite a bit. I thought this looked like more than a usual prolapse and OH and I decided that the best thing to do was to dispatch her straight away. Sadly I don't think we could have done anything to save her.

I am happy that she at least had a few months of freedom in our little flock.
