Having logged on to Google this morning I am very sad that they haven't chosen to celebrate HM's 'big day' with of their special logos.

 

They seem very happy to mark the 194th birthday of some obscure poet or author or similar on a regular basis but couldn't even be bothered to acknowledge this historic date! Could that be because they are American....are they, indeed, American ?

 

I am not an especially rabid monarchist but do feel that HM has done a superb job over the last 63 years and 218 days and that its an important milestone in our history (climbs down from rather large soapbox )

There's a link to something underneath the search box, in blue it says "Congratulations Ma'am". I haven't clicked on the link yet!

 

Just realised the screen I am on it says Google UK so like you say I wonder why there's no Google doodle

Yes, I have just logged on again and seen that at the bottom but it certainly wasn't there at 8.05am this morning when I first looked!!!

 

But yes, a Google Doodle would have been nice!!

I did think the same, but after reading several news articles about it, it seems she didn't want a big fuss about it, and that actually its 'bad form' to celebrate being the reigning queen for longer than someone else. I would imagine Google had been in talks with the royal household who probably told them not to do too much.
