clucker1
Thanks DM. Also Natural Instinct has 10% off til midnight 23 November which when you buy the working dog range (VAT free) makes it all a lot cheaper. Does anyone have suggestions for a decent chew that my working cocker spaniel won't wolf down in a few minutes. The best thing I have found is the bones from the butcher, but an alternative would be a bonus.
The Dogmother
Sorry, can't help; mine get either a chicken carcass or lamb ribs of an evening. Neither lasts very long!
clucker1
Oh well, that's reassuring my dog isn't the only gobbler around
The Dogmother
If you are using a chew tonkeep them occupied, then you might be better off dividing up their feed and giving some of it stuffed in a Kong
clucker1
Yes thanks DM she gets a kong most days with part of her meal in it....I give it to her frozen.... It lasts about 20 mins with the bouncing round it gets given as well! I'm dead lucky really as the bones are so cheap/free from the butcher, though she can't have too much bone as it doesn't do well with her digestive system, so gets a couple of bones a week which the whole lot gets eaten then a marrow bone once a week if I can get hold of them from the butcher. Seeing your post, I might try chicken carcass again as I haven't tried that for a while. The only downside with bones is they are so high value, I have to manage the situation ie give it to her when the house is quiet....for some reason ???? She won't eat one in her crate....I've left her in there an hour and she ignores it Could try the utility room, that's an idea....
