Lesley
I bid on a DVD last night on ebay and won it! Man at work said he'd been buying DVD's and if the seller has a high rating etc. it should be OK( he's bought quite a few this way). I got It's a Wonderful Life for £1.70 - brand new. Fingers crossed now. Edited November 24, 2005 by Guest

I LOVE that film....in fact it was the first video I replaced with a DVD when I got my DVD player I have bought heaps of DVDs on ebay, all have been genuine & perfect, so I am sure it will be OK I would be interested if anyone has seen "Charlie & the Chocolate factory" for under £14...... buffie
Just thought it's like Miracle on 34th St. You tell us what you want and we find it cheaper. All part of the Omlet service eh!! BBx
Nicola H
The sites are really good Buffy I have just ordered pressies from Strawberry net............You have to be a little bit careful with that one because it is an American site you may have to pay customs..... Not fair really but there we go as long as they don't declare the true cost of the gifts on the packaging we should be OK.
buffie
I've used them for 2 years and never been charged anything, the stuff comes from Hong Kong I think? They put the warning on but also let you know that they usually absorb any cost themselves. The cd's and stuff also come from Hong Kong, it's great that it's so easy to get the stuff and so much cheaper. Check the prices are in UK pounds too, sorry if that's being obvious but I thought I'd just mention that. If you see cheap stuff on 101cd.co.uk/com I wouldn't bother, they sent me the wrong disc, then I had to return it for a refund and then thy issued the disc again when I asked for a refund, as it was already purchased from amazon. I am told the refun is coming and I can return the disc, i do hope so Hope you like the purchases Nicola BBx BBx

buffie
Update on great customer service. Strawberry.net as previously mentioned have a policy to refund any customs charged and in 2 years using them it never happened. It has happened once, in several orders, this christmas. I e mailed them and they just said scan or fax over the post office receipt and have refunded my card. Reassurance to anyone concerned about this. Nicola H
I recieved my order from Strawberry.net and was very impressed on the green customs sticker they put the value of the items enclosed was 2p therefore the postie didn't ask me to pay any duty........Jeff gets a lot of things posted to him from America and if the value is less than £15 you are OK. It is such a rip off that we have to pay duty on items that we find cheaper abroad..................

Fingers crossed now. Just to let you know I've had problems with this seller on Ebay - Classicdvds - A week after winning it by bidding - not a Buy Now option, I received an email to say it was "temporarily out of stock" How can it be out of stock? I won it? I have requested a refund. I also had another look and that particular seller is still offering lots of copies, at auction - ending on different days. I'm just waiting for my refund before I register a negative feedback and complain to Ebay. They are based in Singapore. I've now bid for other DVD's but only using UK based sellers and they have been great.
buffie
Hope it gets sorted ,really annoying , never done anything on ebay as yet. Maybe that's something to try next yr BBx
Popcorn
I've never used ebay before either, but the good thing is that you can rate your Seller publicy on the web. I wouldn't use anybody that had a bad sellers rating, and I don't blame you Lesely for commenting. what a rip-off
Nicola H
Bad sellers have a way around it though they just reregister under another user name and sell lots of little things that don't cost much to get their ratings back up..........So be very careful. buffie
Yeah I just don't see how you can really trust these people, I know they have alot of success with bona fide sales but I just might be the one that gets burnt. BBx
ubereglu
I know what I want for christmas an eglu of any kind! There's some on sale (HINT, HINT) Do you think I'll get away with that-seeing that my Dad made the chicken coop in the first place oops! Back to the subject at Hawkins Bazaar you can get quite cheap pressents and some even to do with chickens. Also Chicken School is a very good book for all those little youngsters at heart. By Jeremy Strong and it's so good, may I say so myself a 13 year old!
