Ain't Nobody Here
Someone on Facebook has asked me if I know - I wondered if "pasture-raised" is just American for "free-range" but Google has left me none the wiser . Anybody know the difference, if there is one?
sjp
looks like their free range with an 'added' extra to give them omega 3, probably an American marketing twist found this bit on Google the last sentence reads like our regs on commercial Free Ranging that they only have to have access to the outside What are pasture raised eggs? Pastured Eggs – Chickens are allowed to roam free, eating plants and insects (their natural food) along with some commercial feed. Omega-3 Enriched Eggs – Basically, they're like conventional chickens except that their feed is supplemented with an Omega-3 source like flax seeds. May have had some access to the outside. Lewis
I would guess so. Is this buying pullets? Lots of hybrids are reared in sheds until POL for biosecurity reasons and while they are being vaccinated. It could mean that these are reared outside from a younger age and I would guess on a smaller scale.
