keymaster
Hi Looking out the window this evening I saw a weasel running around my Cube with 3 metre run, we ran out and chased it but no doubt it will be back. I have a cube with eglu run extension all fitted properly, chickens dont come out and run is pinned down - Will weasel be able to get in anyway? through run, under run or in air vents in cube? many thanks RM
The Dogmother
I doubt that it will be able to climb up the cube to reach the air vents, a small weasel might be able to squeeze through the run mes, but I reckon that this one would have got inside if it could. If you are concerned, then I would suggest that you cable tie some finer weld mesh around the bottom of the run.
Cat tails
Don't know the Cube that well, but my Up has quite large slits in the run mesh in the back, where the weels would be. I don't doubt a weasel would be able to enter through there. But getting in the cube is another matter.
Grandmashazzie
That is the very reason I have my Go Up and Classic in a WIR. I was going to get an Omlet WIR and emailed to ask if they were rodent proof and they said no. I don't know why they don't manufacture their runs with smaller mesh.I think it is a big design fault given how rats etc are attracted to the food.
