Cat tails
It's that time of year again! And you lot are really missing something with these semifinals! Great performance today of the hosts with a true old style chorus line and pretending to be cab drivers to surprise fans. Sweden knows how to do these things and Petra Mede is really funny. Will be watching Graham Norton on Saturday, because our Dutch commentator is annoying and not funny.
Charlottechicken
Ready and waiting here! OH has put aside his usual Saturday night episode of Game of Thrones and we will be tuning in No doubt the UK will score less than a dozen points, as we seem to do these days but it's always interesting to see the different musical tastes across Europe. Cat tails
There are quite a number of good songs. But no allround favorite yet. I am very curious to whom will win.

Groovychook
Love Eurovision- never miss it although I always start to flag half way through. I miss the days when there were some very dodgy tunes... everyone takes it way too seriously these days! Thank goodness for Graham Norton injecting an air of cynicism. He's no Terry Wogan though. I hope some mention is made of Terry during the show. I've laughed so hard at some of his remarks over the years
bluekarin
My ED loves it, and uses up her online posting allowance on the website she goes on (I know it, but for the life of me I cant remember which one she goes on ) so we will be watching too

patsylabrador
I saw you had written Australia and to check that out. How did that happen? Europe's changing more than I realised!
Cat tails
Australia has been a big fan since decades I believe. Because it was the sixthieth anniversary last year, the were allowed to enter as a special gesture. It was a great success, so they decided they could enter again this year. But if they won, the contest would be hosted in a EU country. It was also broadcasted in the US and China this year. Probably the reason Justin Timberlake got to perform. Groovychook
I was pleased that the Ukraine won even though it wasn't my favourite tune. Good to have a song that actually meant something and had a political message. It was obvious to see that it was a theme personal to the performer. On a trivial note, I missed all the normal Eurovision madness! No ridiculous acts to give you a laugh when your enthusiasm is flagging Thought it was well presented by the Swedish hosts and the scoring system was a definite improvement, so exciting Shame about the UK entry- I thought it was a good song performed well. At least the got a douze points from somebody!
Cat tails
UK and the other's of the big five would make a much bigger chance if they could also perform in the semifinals. They aways show these clips, but it just hasn't got the same effect I guess. I sort of like the new scoring system as well. At least gives it a bit more of a surprise at the end. Russia of course is thoroughly displeased by Ukraine winning. Our news thingy (dutch BCC) already mentioned it might have a negative effect on the "peace" on the Krim.
