I have spread diamaceous earth around which is all I have at the mo and am going to clean the house and move the run to different ground later. Ursula123 Posted July 11, 2016 Share Posted July 11, 2016 Hi You will need to worm them with either pre mixed layers pellets with Flubenvet, Marriages and Heygates do these - local feed suppliers should hopefully stock one or the other. If not the you can buy Flubenvet powder which you mix with their layers pellets ( I've not done this as I always buy the pre mixed pellets) but again you can buy this from feed suppliers and vets. Cat tails Posted July 11, 2016 Share Posted July 11, 2016 Flubenvet seems the treatment for most here, but I can't get my hands on any here in the Netherlands. For quick treatment you could also do a liquid caged bird dewormer. Beaphar does one which has Levamisole as active ingredient. It does give you a egg withdrawal period. Top service from them, I always use them now Yes, you can order either from them or marriages online and it arrives the next day. If you have seen worms in the droppings, then they will have a very heavy worm load - when did you last worm them? To answer your question on when I last wormed them, we have only had them for 3 months so other than diamaceous earth in their food for the first week of every month, I haven't. Should it be done more regularly? The advice we had was twice a year? So far I have still only seen one worm so fingers crossed I won't see any more as it was pretty gross! Don't rely on diatom to worm.them Worm them again after 3 weeks in this instance, them either again in 4 months and every 4 months going forward,or (if you can be bothered) send off poo samples to Retfords for testing and dise accordingly.
