Joojoo
Well, I think I have surpassed myself this time!! I've had quite a few mad moments in the past (usually when it involves animals) but even I don't think this is normal. As we don't eat a huge amount of eggs and I know that all my family and friends will enjoy having a box off our hens occasionally, I've had a personalised rubber stamp made with a cat on. Everyone who knows me knows that I adore cats (with 6 of the darlings I would have to ). Anyway, I've got an ink pad with food colouring so that I can rival the "lion' mark on shop bought eggs. Obviously mine are going to be a million times better than anything I could possibly buy!!! Have I completely lost the plot and should I have spent my money on booking some padded accommodation rather than an eglu? Jue
Laura & CTB
I think it's a great idea - if I had more eggs to give away I'd probably do the same! Post a photo of one of your stamped eggs please - would love to see! Oh and normal is just soooo boring anyway
The Pearsons
Padded accommodation isn't a good investment as you get evicted and sent to the "care in the community team" very quickly. Heaven help you then as I work for a mental health team....... Helen in Hume
arowland17
I'd probably do something similar if we had more eggs to spare!! we only have 2 chickens so get 2 eggs most days and once or twice a week get a 1 egg day so we have to let them save up a little bit before promising them to anyone! My OH keeps offering them to friends when they come over, so our solitary 2 eggs that I was looking forward to for dinner get given away! has happened many times!! The Pearsons
I'm also not admitting to the nuttiest thing I have ever done....

susiepoos
What a great idea - where do you get the stamps made????
Joojoo
Good Morning I'm relieved you don't all think it was a completely mad thing to do Although I should say that the chooks haven't even arrived yet so I am jumping the gun a bit. But hey, you've got to be prepared for these things. I just thought that it would be a really lovely way to distinguish them from others. You can get the stamps from varous print or sign companies. If they don't do them, then I'm sure they will be able to tell you someone who does produce them. I've used a company that I deal with through work - pm me if you want the details. You need to supply an image (10-15mm) and they do the rest. They are not hugely expensive, usually about £10 or £11. I think it's worth that for the amusement value alone I cant wait now for 6th September - 13 days and counting HOORAH Jue xxx
Olly
yes, you're completely mad ... I want one, too! I'm not sure what the nuttiest thing I've done is, but I know some people would say that it was getting an Eglu and chickens! Once you've started on that road, anything chicken or egg-related is entirely appropriate, no matter how weird or expensive. I know lots of people whose kitchen cupboards are full of unused juicers, ice-cream makers and sandwich toasters, I think £15 or so on a delightful stamp is money well spent! cutechicky
Yes, I think it is a wonderful idea! I would do exactly the same if I had lots of eggs to spare! I started a similar thing up but with the herbs that I grew in my garden. There is a local shop nearby, so I put a big basket full of wonderful herbs by the front desk. They were extremely popular and everyone knew my name before long! Plus I got 80% of the profits and made quite a bit of spare cash! xgood luck!
