Stargazer99
For a few weeks now our eggs have got very watery whites. The yolks are very fragile and tend to break once in the pan. Flavour has not been affected but can't understand why this has happened. I checked on internet and it says it is because the hens are old or the eggs are stale. The girls are only 18 months old and the eggs are fresh. Could the heat be changing the structure? Has anyone else experienced this?
Plum
I don't know if it's still happening but yes my old girl lays eggs like this. Yours is young so perhaps she needs a supplement. Lifeguard http://www.life-guard.co.uk/ is good it has all the trace minerals.
chickencam
This can happen after a year or so which is one reason why commercial producers don't keep them beyond 12-18 months. Have they had their first moult yet? I find egg quality goes down just before this.
