Daphne
Does anybody have any experience of, or views on, the pros and cons of using online estate agents as a seller? I know with Purplebricks you have to pay regardless of whether you make a sale, but it's still miles cheaper than using a regular agent. sarahjayne
I have always used a high street agent, normally an independent one rather than a chain. My concern would be if you pay the agent whether you sell or not, where is their incentive? In saying that our local branch of a well known estate agency chain closed down and the manager now works for Purple Bricks so he would have a very good knowledge of my particular area. We're on the market now so would be interested to hear others views.
HarrisonFamily
I have known 2 friends use purple bricks and the house sold within days and they had no problems at all - I have moved 3 times over the past 10 years and had so many problems with high street estate agents that i would try the cheaper option without a doubt..... sarahjayne
Never had a problem with our independent high street estate agents but solicitors when moving is a different matter! The best was when our buyers solicitor exchanged using 2 different completion dates. Now that was interesting!
percy049
Our agency fees (not online) are £168pp for 5 people...... I'm not sure how this compares to online estate agents
Geoid
My house is currently on the market with PurpleBricks, and things are moving a lot faster than with traditional estate agents. There are already more viewings to start and feedback is provided instantly
Princess Leia
May not be relevant, but there's a bungalow near me that was gutted and redeveloped about two years ago by a developer. They did a good job of it. However, it's now been up for sale with Tepilo for 18 months and still hasn't sold...
Old Speckled Hen
I had house up for sale with estate agents for six months. Sacked them and went with houseladder. House was sold and it cost me £100. Estate agents fees would have been 15K. No brainer !
