soapdragon
ES had an orthodontist appointment today and was absolutley delighted to hear that he only has another 6 months to go with his brace! He was moved on to the next phase which is an elastic band on one side to close gaps. He was told to take them off for eating and cleaning but not how often he should actually change them. The practice is closed on Wednesday so I can't call tomorrow to ask so wondered if Omlet people might know! Thanks in advance!
Grandmashazzie
DD has just finished with orthodontist. She had bands and changed them after every meal, I know, I kept finding them everywhere. Dentist told her to change them daily, They didn’t seem to mind me popping in for new bags and there was no charge.
soapdragon
Thanks for that.....trouble is that the orthodontist is about 3/4 of an hour away so 1 1/2 hour round trip! Next appointment is 7 weeks away! I'll have to count up how many are in a bag! Glad to hear that your DD has now finished her treatment; it's a long slog, isn't it!? Grandmashazzie
Yes,then her retainer broke. We got a new one which we had to pay for, then NHS paid for it so we had to pop in to get refund on card, then she lost it so we had to get another
soapdragon
Aggh! What a faff! Hope all is OK now!? Conversely, Nat can't wait for the retainer stage - the only 'good' thing about having the brace is that he has to miss a French lesson each time we go! I called the practice this morning and they did say that, if we run out of bands, they can post some!
Alis girls
Always a silver lining. YS is sporting his today a blue one i thought he'd lisping but hes not i lisped something rotten with mine. Doesnt seem to stop abuse being hurled at Man U's match on tv . His rogue tooth stuck in the gum is moving itself and it has a chain on it which is fixed to it to pull it down. soapdragon
Ouch, brave lad! I suspect my YS will have to have similar; he's had one big front tooth through for months but no sign of it's partner. At age 10, though, they won't commit to anything! Hope your lad does well! Alis girls
Thanks SD - we have waited ages for this hes 16!! Hes very morose today - had a lot of pain relief and hasnt eaten much a big no no for a teenage boy as they eat a lot as many of you will know from the havoc wrecked by a hungry male human hunting for his grub. Panic last week as he thought chain had fallen off!! It was a stitch. I have told him my nursing expertise doesnt cover teeth.
