Alis girls Posted February 16, 2018 Share Posted February 16, 2018 Help we have this paving company that despite a sign on door keep knocking to do our drive. They are a bona fide company I checked on line but we don't want our drive done. Admittedly it needs doing but we get it done when we want. We have recently got a new outer door so suspect they think we have spare dosh. My husband is too polite I am not do. Last time my son a beefy lad told them we didn't want it. I hoped that would be it but he's back today. Told him no we didn't have the money and to go away. Any advice please. I am getting fed ip. Looked online for advice. If latter I would ring or write to the owner, asking him to remove you. Also you could contact citizens advice. Keep a note of when they call and registration no. of van to back you up. sjp Posted February 16, 2018 Share Posted February 16, 2018 their in breach of the Consumer protection act, Unfair trading Regulations 2008 part way down the page in the link are a couple of signs you can print off that contain the proper wording that basically tell unwanted traders that they are breaking the law if you've got something like that visible and they still keep pestering you then report them to trading standards. there used to be one aimed at charities and religious groups through they aren't legally obliged to pay any heed to it, it stops some of them, a lot just say the didn't see the signs one's bright yellow one's bright blue.I gave up been 'nice' to either of the 3 'groups' years ago and I have told one or two were the nearest opticians are. the act also covers takeaway menu deliveries but as all of them around here only employ non English speakers/readers and We never get the same one more than once the sign don't work https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/phones/no-more-junk Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I might call head bod and see if I can speak to him. Was tempted to put review on their website but worried about repercussions. I am going to print big yellow and black one off. Opticians one sounded good. Someone on here used to say they were devil worshippers or sacrificing a goat when the religious bods came round. will keep you posted.
