Natspringy
Hello all, Any ideas why my cream legbar has suddenly started laying white eggs???!!! They used to be blue! Wondering if it's something I need to check.... Thank you!
Natspringy
Oh Google tells me it could be a billion things. Heat, stress, minerals, mites.... Dusting coop, adding vits etc...
Lewis
Usually they start off laying dark (blue, green, brown) coloured eggs and throughout the season they will get lighter until they moult. Then they build up pigment in the shell gland and legs ready for the next season. Not sure why they'd suddenly go white, I'd go with heat or stress rather than dusting the coop or adding vitamins but I'll have a think

AndyRoo
I don't think this is anything too much to worry about. My Legbars occasionally churn out an egg or two which is so pale that it's hard to tell the difference between that and a white egg.
