skye
Hi guys We got our first egg at the weekend... we think it's Yolko as she's crouching a bit and her comb is larger and redder than Layla's... we were so chuffed we did the egg dance (in front of our neighbour who was cutting the hedge at the time!)... Small but perfectly formed, lovely brown shell and perfect yolk... but a lil bit small... only 39g... they're getting larger each day since though! What size eggs do you think we might expect once she gets into the swing of things, guys? How do your girls do, on average? Cheers, A very happy H and R xxxx

KeymerKim
First eggs are so exciting - it doesn't change either - I still get a thrill when I open the egg port and there are 3 or 4 perfect little eggs sitting there. Our first egg was 47g and over the last couple of weeks, they've got larger each time. Our biggest (that i weighed) was 59g, but I'm sure we've had one bigger. I dropped one today - soooo upset! What a waste - clumsy old me! Enjoy your hens! KeymerKim xx

Snowy
Well done to your chooks! My gingernuts average 64g at one year old. The older two girls lay slightly less frequently, but never less than 77g - often in the 80s. Lovely big eggs.
