Poorly chicken

Hello all, 

Total newbie here hoping to get our first chickens in mid-March. We have the Eglu Cube with a 3 m run. We have been advised that, if we don't want to move it - wood chip is a good way to go and to do this properly we should put some weed barrier down etc.

We wondered if anyone had any advice/recommendations/photos of their set ups to give us some ideas and inspiration!!!

I'd put slabs underneath it, which extend out beyond the edges of the run; that will prevent anything digging in and make it easier to clean.

My cubes (mark 1) have slabbing under the runs, clear tarps over the run (top and sides) and Aubiose hemp bedding in the run.

Same as above. I removed turf, laid weed membrane, then sand, then slabs. Then put the Cube and run in, then (slightly different to DM) filled the run with hardwood chips. I also have clear tarps covering the run.

Really helpful thank you. I was hoping to avoid removing the turf though :-(
