ClaireW
One of my girls has produced eggs with blood on the outside & also has a messy backend. She is bright & her usual self. The other 2 seem fine. Any ideas please?
Beantree
First job is to clean her behind thoroughly. We use lukewarm water with a little baby shampoo and then rinse and cold blow dry. Sounds like she has an open wound on her vent which could be parasites or poor skin condition caused by worms. When were they last wormed with flubenvet? She may be bright at the moment but they hide problems well. Clearly something is going wrong but if she's still laying it's not too late to rectify it. Lewis
It’s not unusual for them to have a little blood if she’s passed a particularly big egg, especially if she’s bright. I would just clean her with a bit of warm water on a cotton wool ball and monitor her
