lozkate
Poet, I'm now feeling really guilty that we didn't even consider getting rescue chooks. I think in the euforia (SP?) of the whole thing we went with the simple option. You're pictures look great and you're run/coop looks fab, the wire is definitly more substantial than the one we got recently. I think I'm going to add some Marine ply to the back of our run. I was goinfg to post on how to keep the feed dry in driving rain and there's a great solution - Thanks. One question - Is your run/coop treated? It looks like bare wood. If so you might want to consider giving at a splash of preservative (Inside and out) to maximise longevity. Guess you'd need the stuff that 'does exactly what it says on the tin' so you can get the girls away again at night. Not sure how safe any of the stuff is tho. New thread perhaps? Loz Edit - Cos they're ex-bats do they start laying pretty quickly or do they need TLC first before they provide reward?
Guest
hi lozkate, the wood is treated, it's pressure treated I think but DH assures me it's treated as I was concerned about that. Re eggs, see my thread about our first eggs!
