Guest
Introducing; Maud, Mariana, Fatima and Shalott! We collected them this morning from the BHWT in Haslingden, they had extra so we got the 4 we wanted in the end. Don't ask me which is which as we haven't allocated names yet. They are still a bit shell shocked but are exploring, eating, drinking and erm pooing! They seem mesmorised by the sky, bless them.... DH is just finishing their outside run so will post more pics once they go outside. They're a bit threasdbare but otherwise seem quite perky! Thanks for all the advice you gave me to get me to this stage. DH put a persepx roof and kick board on the open part of the run and covered the back with wood so the food wouldn't get wet. Guest
hi snowy They are spellbound by everything at the moment, it's hilarious to watch. Even their own poops seem to fascinate them, they stand round in congress making quizzical chicken noises while examining it. And the sky, well, you'd think they'd never seen the sky before! Oh, that's right, they haven't! Barbaric practice, battery farming. I hope my girls enjoy their new life

Guest
oh my goodness, I've just had to "wrangle" them into bed- they were having none of it- they seemed to become more alert the darker it got! I tried shooing them gently in, didn't work! Got the lid of the small square recycling box in the garden and, as I say, gave them no choice! Little blighters, I love 'em! I can already see who I think is going to be the boss, the last one standing tonight- she even bit me, there's gratitude!

It must seem so quiet and peaceful after those ghastly battery cages with millions of others. They'll adore going outside. Do keep posting the pics.
