Sick chicken

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I hope someone has an answer for me. We have got a sick leghorn hen on our hands and I’m running out of ways how I can help her. She hasn’t been herself for a while now and would often stand in one spot looking very fed up. She has also got a very pale comb and wattles, they have also shrunk loads over the winter and as you know leghorns have massive combs and wattles. They have been treated for worms and coccidiosis as well as have access to DE powder in their dust bath. Before we brought her inside and separated her from the rest she was breathing with her mouth open and sat on her side in the crate. She’s been isolated for three days now, we’ve given her antibiotics for respiratory issues. She doesn’t seem to want to eat a lot apart from treats and today is the first day she drank by herself. Her tail is still down and she’s very pale. Does anyone have any suggestions?! Thank you in advance

Have you taken her to a vet? Possibly she needs different antibiotics.
