The Dogmother
I've just borrowed Animal, Vegetable, Miracle from the library. It's a brilliant book about a family who move to an idyllic American smallholding and their struggle to grow and source all their food locally, and to eat seasonally. The author has a brilliant turn of phrase - I love the way that she describes the cacti as dry and sucked up like supermodels! I've borrowed it from the library, but never really get time to read it as I;m always so busy! I might have to buy my own copy.
Jules.
Who worte it... and you can always keep phoning the library to rebook it out so you don't get fined for it being overdue!
The Dogmother
It's by Barbara Kingsolver (fab name). I'll have to keep renewing it then. If it's as good as it seems then I'll get my own copy - there are lots of good environmental references in it too.
