Leicester_H
Just went to do usual clean/feed/water. One ex-bat (had for 18 months) was sitting down - usually they all run to door. Then she started trashing around on the ground - like she was having a fit ? or heart attack ? Picked her up just in time for her to die in my arms. Total time, max 30 seconds. Anyone know what it was most likely to have been ? Like Answer
WitchHazel
Sorry to hear about your ex Bat. It sounds like a heart attack (or heart failure), and that's the most likely cause. It's not pleasant to see, but at least you know that her death was quick.
soapdragon
So sorry to hear about your girl but, as Witch Hazel says at least it was very quick and you were holding her.
Beantree
Sorry you had that experience @Leicester_H. Heart attack I think, for whatever reason? They thrash around when clinically dead for about thirty seconds. Some kind of neurological reaction? You will have heard the stories of headless chickens no doubt? We had a pet staggered down and looked stunned, then was picked up and died in my arms just like that. At least she wasn't alone and will have realised you were there.
