PurpleHen
I only started last week as well Angelfire. My "normal" seems to be 4000 - 6000, so I have a long way to go to get it up regularly. Although on Saturday I made 14000 - wish every day could be a weekend

The Dogmother
Made me laugh anyway! I have a pair of trousers, which are my aim to fit back into. I never weigh myself, as I work out a bit, I know that muscle is heavier than flab, so it's misleading, I go by which clothes fit and how I feel. ubereglu
I'm not really counting my steps, but ever since yesterday I've decided to take up circuit training as I find it to be a very good, quick workout which uses every part of your body and gives you a great sense of satisfaction. I will now try to do it everyday so far...2/
angelfire
I managed 7600 steps today for my first day I was very proud of myself but I am unsure how I will keep this going as it was a lot of walking. I sound so lazy. As I am a cellist I am mostly carrying that around so it makes it very difficult to get the walking in when I have that thing on my back Any ideas? Wow Buffy thats amazing, well done you!!!!

Mel (& Paul)
Well, I still cant find my pedometer so have been counting the steps. Today I got up to 580. Actually I did a lot more steps than that but lost the will to count
Guest
I spent a week thinking I was exceedingly lazy and only clocking up 2500 a day Then a day came when I KNEW I had walked a lot further than that (I went out!) and it occurred to me that the battery was going flat. Changed the battery and - brilliant- back up to 7500-9000 a day. Yippee! OH outdoes me spectacularly though - 34 miles (yes, MILES!) last week! Guest
He's in IT, chief Project Manager for a small on-line photographic company. But he works in London and the underground (Northern Line) is so busy that he can't always get on the train, so he tends to walk from London Bridge to his office. It takes about half an hour, so it's good really. Then he walks back in the evening and has a 10 minute walk from the station to his car. It just shows how quickly it can add up doesn't it? He usually does about 13000 steps a day! I think his legs are looking trimmer!
Mel (& Paul)
aha! When I first started working for my current employers I was based in central Southampton. I had a month before I had a company car and used to walk the 20 minutes to my station and then the 25 minutes from Southampton to the office and it was amazing how fit I got. Now I work on one of those trendy business parks off the M27 that the government is so keen on and there is no public transport so I drive door to door (unless I decided to leave my car on the motorway hard shoulder.......) Guest
Mind you if you don't know where you're going in these business parks, you could walk for miles and still not find the right place!

Guest
Well last week I managed more than 10000 steps twice! I don't usually though - too much time spent on the forum! My usual is about 6500, total rubbish, I know OH is walking about 5 miles a day!
